Jerry was a great friend who was always there to lend a hand. Many Montreal photographers benefited when Jerry would help them cope with unexpected problems and issues. He was very skilled at posing and lighting so that his subjects looked their very best or even better than they usually did. He always new the perfect angle and the most flattering lighting. His conversation brought out their personality and character. I will miss him. He was unique and always entertaining. He left his mark on the photographic community. His skill at creating images will be be cherished for generations.

Dear Mae and Family, Jerry Robin was a household name in my family. Both Jerry and my late- father (Ruby Shulman) were Montreal photographers and collaborated at times. However, Jerry never fully retired! Just last year he took fabulous souvenir shots of my father's 80th- and for that I will always be grateful. As other's have written here- Jerry captured special memories for thousands of people- what a great profession- and professional! Jerry had a large personality, and big heart with his volunteer work. I know a loved one's passing creates a huge shock wave in the family, and I give you my sincerest condolences, and hope you all manage these powerful emotions. May you be comforted by all your good memories, and by knowing he lived a good, long life.

Dear Rabinovitch Family I worked for Jerry for a couple of years holding the "blinding video lights" about 40 years ago when he was THE VIDEO GUY in the city. Even though it was many years ago I have only the fondest of memories of those years - we worked hard and he was the ultimate professional. After the event he always treated his crew to a VERY LATE NITE meal at the Montreal Pool Room on St Laurent Blvd or his favorite haunt being Blanche Neige on Cote des Neiges. Extending my sincerest condolences to all of you on the loss of a wonderful human being - Rest in Peace Jerry !

Dear Rabinovitch family, Our sincere condolences to you on the passing of your beloved Jerry, Z"L. Jerry was a dedicated volunteer at MADA, photographing our events with great enthusiasm, and always being there to deliver hundreds of meals and food baskets to the less fortunate, May all the good deeds and Mitzvot he did so sincerely and with a joyful heart, be a merit for his Neshama to ascend in Gan Eden. May his memory be for a blessing. Chaim Shlomo and Rivkah Cohen and the MADA family

Dear Mae and family. I am shocked to find out about the passing of Gerry. It wasn’t too long ago that Gerry sent me a message on messenger. I called him almost immediately. We had a great conversation. I was just thinking about Mae and Gerry the other day to go up and visit them. Wishing Mae and the family my most heartfelt condolences. Gerry was one of the best ones.

It’s hard to believe that someone with so much life could be gone. I spoke to Jerry last year after booking his Airbnb for an in person bat mitzvah that didn’t happen due to Covid. It was lovely hearing him Kvell about his kids and how much he loved his wife. I have so many pictures Jerry took all over my house - family portraits, pictures of simchas… I will never forget (it’s a family legend) how he got one of my unruly cousins to smile for the camera at a bar mitzvah. Only Jerry could charm him. May you be comforted with the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Karen & Morrie Cuttler - 15 days ago

Dear Mae & family, We were very saddened to hear about the loss of your beloved, Jerry. My late dad ( Perry Carmen) always said Jerry was one of the best he ever worked with. He also helped make our wedding video that much more memorable - actually it was more of a production! For the video intro, we schlepped him to various locations in and around Montreal; setting up scenes, special effects and different scenarios along with family and friends! I don’t know who had more fun -Jerry or us! What a great personality- as well as being extremely talented! Close to 40 years later, we are still laughing, enjoying and appreciating the video, and fondly remember Jerry and the great time we all had. May cherished memories bring you and your family comfort and peace at this difficult time. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Fondly, Karen & Morrie Cuttler

He was such a great guy, and we all had the pleasure of volunteering and working alongside Gerry weekly, as no matter the weather conditions we could always count on Gerry to show up, pack his car and deliver hundreds of weekly food boxes for MADA. He was larger the life to us , strong, fearless , the best of storytellers and undeniably selfless, the most giving of men. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered . Jerry was our wedding photographer and what a memory…..he tried so hard to make us happy……he even tried to help us with our album as it was damaged by the horrendous flood of 1987. Marlena Avila - 18 days ago

Mae my heart is breaking but it goes out to you and we are gutted by the loss of this one of a kind man. I met Jerry 13 years ago and this picture perfectly captures his sweetness, sensitivity and joy. I have always been proud to call Jerry and Mae my Montréal parents as they took me under their wing and were always there for me and many others. We have so many memories of wonderful times together. He was one of the most talented and wisest people I have ever known and as stubborn as I am I’ve always tried to listen to his advice. He loved making people smile with his witty jokes & even if you heard them one too many times, the joy he had in telling them you could only laugh again and again. One of the best things about Jerry was how much he loved his wife and how he thought that she was the most beautiful, wonderful woman and he was proud to be her husband. Many people can only wish to have a long, loving and happy marriage and to have a partner so devoted to their happiness. I am grateful for the time that we had and I take solace in the thought that he is reunited with his faithful dog Max. Love you Mae and I’m only a call a way.
